We Love Our Brickies
Our brickies have seriously done an amazing job!!! The brickwork for the new extension is now complete. They have been so good-natured and friendly, even in the middle of problems. They are always so grateful when we bring them their daily coffee and were quite taken aback when we gave them each a bottle of spirits to thank them for their good work. Their attention to detail in lining up the new brickwork with the old has been impressive. Our builder constructed the concrete slab at an incorrect height, which meant that the lowest level of brick course was not a single size brick. Each brick had to be cut to align to the existing brickwork. The western side of the extension looks stunning!!! I can already envision the finished effect.
The laundry door came back from the joiners and have now been installed. The laundry side is looking pretty good too. Hubby still tells me that he is glad we fixed the alignment of the door and the windows and this was something he could not bring himself to live with.
We have our new mailbox in place. The newly reconstructed wall will be rendered by the renderer, and will need a new coat of paint but we plan to repaint the walls anyway so that will have to wait for now. But I'm quite happy with how the new mailbox looks.
