Finally... Some Progress

The northern side of the new extension is finally complete. Frank and Pat have done a great job lining up the new brickwork with the existing structure. Now work has moved over to the western side. This is the side with the three french doors side by side so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the brickwork will be stellar as well, or it will ruin the effect that we're going for. On the bright side, the brickwork on the laundry side has also been completed and now all the windows and laundry door are aligned with each other.

This afternoon, we went to Bunnings to shop for a new mailbox. A whole section of our mailbox was accidentally taken out by the renderer, Tim. Frank and Pat have kindly agreed to re-build the section for us. But before they can do that, we have to get a new mailbox so they can re-rebrick the section to fit the size of the mailbox. Although it's an added unforeseen expense, I'm not too annoyed about it as I really did not like our old mailbox anyway. It had a very narrow slot for the mail and was an ugly corrugated iron colour. We selected a cream mailbox (rather boring, I know) but it matches the colour of the wall and fits in quite well with the existing space.
