We Have A Leak

And the problems seem to be never-ending. First of all we discovered last night that the plumbers did not use silicone throughout the entire length of pipes they chased into the wooden frame in the ensuite wall. This is to reduce 'knocking' in the pipes. Then we discovered a leak in the Hansgrohe iBox connection for the family bathroom.

I had purchased Hansgrohe iBox to use with the installation of our tapware. All our tapware apart from the floor-mounted tap for the bath is Hansgrohe. Based on the advice of our supplier Walton Bathrooms, we decided that is made sense to use the iBox for our plumbing install. This was commmunicated to the builder even before we signed the contract with him. We gave him a list of all the items that we were supplying for the project, including model numbers and brands of the items we would be using. We were extremely worried when we discovered that the plumbers did not know how to install the Hansgrohe iBox. Thankfully, there is an official video on Youtube that teaches you how to installa the iBox and we had to show that video to the plumbers.
So you can imagine how worried we were when we discovered there was a leak in the family bathroom install this morning. Hubby promptly took a photo and showed it to the builder when he came on site. We insisted that the plumbers come back right away to fix the leak and to silicone the rest of the gaps in the wooden frame in the ensuite.

At least thinks seem to be progressing on the roof frame. Being July, we are still getting the occasional drizzle and it would be nice to finally have a roof over the new extension. I have to say though, at the moment, getting this plumbing installations right is our priority. We're starting to lose sleep over stress and worry. We have zero confidence in the plumber who is doing the work on our project, and that is a huge worry.
