Further Plumbing Work

The plumbers have returned to chase copper pipes into the brick wall. It has been a few very stressful days as we have discovered some placement issues with the first fix plumbing work. We are installing a free-standing bath with floor-mounted taps in the family bathroom. Placement of the water inlets for the floor-mounted taps is crucial. There is hardly any margin for error as they have to be placed at a specific distance from each other or the tap cannot be installed. These details were given to the plumbers during first fix plumbing but we noticed that the distance from the wall was incorrect. The inlets were not placed in line with each other. We questioned our builder about this before the concrete was poured and he said it was something that could be rectified. Even on the day of the concrete pour, I questioned him again but he said it was something that he would fix later down the track. We have spoken to a friend who is a plumber by trade and he has also confirmed that the placement of the water inlets must be rectified. This problem is playing in my head over and over again and I'm getting rather worried because the builder doesn't seem to understand the gravity of the problem.

On a happier note, our French brass lanterns have arrived from Belgium. Unpacking the lanterns from the box, they looked even better than in the photos. We are so happy and can't wait to have them hanging over the island bench in the kitchen. I cannot believe that hubby found us these beautiful lanterns online.

Work has also begun on the timber frame for the roof. Bit by bit, the new extension area is taking shape right before our very eyes.

Unfortunately we have also discovered damage done to the plaster work in our guest bedroom as a result of work carried out in the family bathroom. A huge chunk of plaster has been knocked out off the wall of the guest room. There goes the hours of work we put in to painting that room before the renovation began. We are quite gutted by the turn of events.
