Lots has happened in the last few days. Rebricking work has begun on the family bathroom. Our brickies are Frank and Pat - two old hands who have been in the trade for a very long time. The salvaged bricks are used to rebrick the double-brick wall in the corner of the family bathroom. Work has been brisk and efficient and they reckon they should be done by next week. They're hoping to get the sub-contract from our builder to do the bricking work for the new extension. We're hoping they'll stay on too as they have been really pleasant to deal with.

Our bricks for the new extension area have arrived from Littlehampton Bricks and Pavers. The profile of our existing brickwork is different to the size of standard new bricks so we made sure that our builder enlisted the brick-matching services of Littlehampton Bricks and Pavers. Their free brick-matching service involves one of their team members coming out for a site visit. Our guy left samples in the two colours closest to our existing brick colour for us to decide. Our Old Red Brick from Littlehampton's blends in very well with our existing brickwork. They even have the different profiles needed to match existing. The only down side is these bricks are made to order. They take about 2 to 4 weeks to manufacture. Just as well that we planned ahead and ordered the bricks in advance. Our pallets of bricks were delivered earlier on in the week are ready to go on site.

Unfortunately, we also discovered a problem. There seems to be a leak in one of the stormwater pipes. This is evidenced by a puddle of water in the mdidle of our carport. The builder has been notified to investigate and rectify the problem. It seems like one can never be too vigilant with these things.
