Hubby and I managed to have a day off together. There were lots to be done. We decided to pay Gary a visit. Maybe we were meant to visit his store today. He had a very cute canapé which would look really cute in our new living area. tt has a rather uninspiring dirty green upholstery fabric but I think re-upholstering it will give it new life. It has very graceful curves. Gary also had a bergère chair which I think would fit perfectly in the guest room. We've taken measurements to see if they will fit where we hope to place them. So there's a pretty good chance we're getting more French furniture.

The steel for our slab arrived today on site. That's a lot of steel sitting in our front yard.

In the afternoon, we headed down to Mitcham Antique Gallery with all our brass wall sconces we bought from France. They will have to be rewired to comply with Australian standards. Although the rewiring process seems quite straight-forward and DIY, we thought it safer to have it done by a qualified electrician. The guy at Mitcham Antique Gallery have been very helpful and obliging. I do wonder if it's because we are looking at purchasing a pair of French lanterns they have for our kitchen. After I lucked out with my French eBay seller, we have not been able to find any brass lanterns that suits our styling for the kitchen. As much as I want the lanterns, I'm not quite sure we're happy to pay the asking price for the pair. There is just no room in the budget for these ridiculously priced lanterns, especially when I know what I can get them for from France. But finding three identical ones might just prove to be the impossible.
