Demolition continues in the family bathroom with the bathroom floor completely stripped and removed. Work has now extended to the outside of the family bathroom.

The former linen cupboards have been removed, and the wall separating the old linen cupboards and the bathroom is now gone. We now have a blank slate to start afresh, to create the family bathroom of our dreams.

On a separate note, I stopped by to see Gary at Davenport Interiors this afternoon. He told us that he had purchased two trumeau mirrors that we might be interested in. The size of the mirror was great. We had been wondering what we would do for a mirror in our new walk-in robe. The empire style and ormolu mounts ties in beautifully with our bed. I took a photo of it to show hubby.

While I was there, Gary showed me a 19th century walnut cabinet that was just the right size to convert into a vanity. In fact, it was the perfect size for the family bathroom. We only had one small problem. Gary had already completed the conversion work on the French oak cabinet. We re-measured the walnut cabinet to see if it could accomodate two sinks. There was not enough room. However, the French oak cabinet had enough width for the two sinks. After much debating, we decided that we would have to ask Gary to redo the French oak cabinet to fit two sinks instead of one, and convert the walnut cabinet for the family bathroom. Sigh... nothing in renovation is ever easy!!!

When I returned home from Gary's, I found that Ivan had been hard at work. The opening for our new WIR has been cut and the old skirting boards from the bedroom we're converting into the ensuite and WIR has been removed. I can actually imagine the space now.
