Bathroom Demolition

Demolition work began on the family bathroom today. The tiles have been removed and the plaster stripped down to bare brick walls. Demolition work has revealed a very nasty surprise. One section of the wall is badly cracked and will have to be completely demolished and rebricked. This is our first taste of renovating on a 100-year old house. You never know what you're going to find. I really hope this is not a sign of things to come. Suddenly, we're not so confident of our reno budget.

There's nothing we can do about it. The wall will have to be demolished brick by brick. The bricks will have to be cleaned and reused to rebuild the wall as we will not be able to find similar bricks to maintain the look of the exposed bricks on the exterior wall.
