Another Chandelier

French eBay is way too addictive. After our multple success with our light fittings from France, we just couldn't stop looking. French eBay was like a little Aladdin's cave, full of beautiful things that we dreamed of having in our home. The only disappointing part is many of the sellers still don't ship internationally but times are changing and there are a lot more sellers who are now familiar with the Colissimo.

I found this gorgeous Louis XVI or Empire style chandelier a very low price. The seller was lovely and a little apprehensive as I don't believe she had shipped to Australia before. But we exchanged a few emails and she kept checking in to see if the parcel had arrived. Well it arrived today, in a massive box, very well packed and disassembled to fit the box. It is made of good, solid brass and it a little larger than I expected, to be honest. But I think it will fit wonderfully in the guest bedroom.

I am very pleased with our purchase. LIke all the other light fittings, it will have to be rewired to Australian standards before we can install it. Now if only I can find three brass lanterns for the kitchen, and a pair for the hallway, our collection of French light fittings will be complete.
