Lights, Camera, Action!!!

Excited with the prospect of renovating our home, we decided that the first thing we should look into was lighting. Call it naivety, impatience, stupidity, ignorance... We decided that we should have light fittings installed in the bedrooms and formal living area because they were rooms that we were going to be using during the renovation process. We wanted to paint the ceilings, so we could begin the painting process for the walls in these rooms. We thought that if we could create a couple of livable space, the renovation process would be less painful. BIG MISTAKE!!!!

But we were not to know that on an overcast Sunday afternoon when we headed down to Disegno Luce's showroom on Anzac Highway. We were lured in by the eniticing '50% off all chandeliers' signs. Spotting a beautiful Italian crystal chandelier, we sucked in. The crystals were definitely superior to the China-made chandeliers. Having done a very preliminary research on Murano chandeliers, I decided that the prices were reasonble. Poor hubby just followed my lead. We bought a large chandelier for our formal lounge room, with matching wall sconces, a smaller chandelier for our bedroom, also with matching wall sconces, and a cheaper black chandelier for the guestroom.

While we're happy with the way the chandeliers look in the room, we definitely did not get the bargain we thought we did. We learnt a big lesson from this - do your research before purchasing anything!!!!
